Implementing any AIR Native Extension in your AIR projects sometimes can be very confusing and frustrating. Some ANEs have many manifest .xml setup. Some of them have many dependencies which often are missed. Some of them have external *.framework dependencies and some of them have resource files. And sometimes, some ANEs have all these things together. When trying to implement them in your project, you need to read long list of instructors. Even when the ANE is updated it’s very probable that the manifest settings or the dependency files are changed, so you need to read instructions again to know how to update the ANE. I’m sure everyone agrees with me when I say that you are wasting a lot of your time on implementing ANEs in your projects. The ANE-LAB project is going to change this. It will do everything automatically for you no matter which AIR IDE you use. Click here to download ANE-LAB.
Do you use IntelliJ? AdobeAnimate? FlashBuilder? Or maybe FlashDevelop? No matter what IDE you use, you can always use ANE-LAB to setup ANEs for you in matter of seconds.
In early 2013 we released our first AIR Native Extension. Since then we tried hard every day to create new and better ANEs so the AIR community will be able to use them in their apps. So the AIR platform would be more powerful. We are creating and updating these native extensions and we even tried to think out of the box and invested on developing brand new ANEs like the Firebase SDK, the Augmented Reality ANE or the VR ANE and many more.
We were the first ones who brought the Firebase SDK to AIR which today, hundreds of AIR developers are using it in their apps. Dedicating so much time into Firebase ANEs was very risky because our surveys showed that less than 40% of AIR devs at that time were familiar with the native Firebase SDK. But we knew Firebase is a big thing so we risked it anyway and started working on it. We received an awesome support through our campaign and with your help, the fine AIR community, we completed our task about Firebase.
Almost the same thing happened with the Augmented Reality ANE. The amount of work we put into the AR ANE was insane but the outcome has been awesome. Today, you can create complex AR content in your AIR application with ease.
But the most ambitious project we have worked on in MyFlashLabs is the “ANE-LAB” project. The ANE-LAB software can be installed on your desktop computer, (WIN & MAC) and it allows you to install any ANE in your AIR projects. We started coding it from April 2017 and after 7 month of full-time work, today we are proud to be presenting you with an intelligent software which removes all the frustrating setup requirements from implementing ANEs into your projects.
Implement Any AIR Native Extension Easy & Fast
Using ANEs in your AIR projects is great because it gives you native power but every ANE might have different setup requirements. Our surveys and all our statistics show that more than 90% of support tickets that our support-team has been answering in all these years have been related to mis-configuration of ANEs by AIR developers. In other terms, we could say that human mistakes has been very probable when you had to configure the ANEs in your projects. The ANE-LAB software solves this problem.
- You no longer have to worry about manifest configuration of any ANEs.
- You no longer have to worry about which version of dependency files you need to use in your app.
- You no longer need to worry about copying iOS *.framework files to the AIR SDK.
- You no longer have to worry about copying different ANE resources into your project.
ANE-LAB will take away the hassle of ANE implementation in AIR projects. There will be no human mistakes as it does everything automatically in matter of seconds. If you had to spend hours studying the ANE installment instruction, with using the ANE-LAB, you no longer have to. You just need to click the “install” button and that would be all in less than a second. The ANE is ready in your project.
Developing with AIR platform is supposed to be fun. Right? We are doing our best to make sure you are enjoying developing AIR apps. You just focus on your app logic. Let us take care of everything related to ANEs. You do what you do best and leave the rest to us.
The ANE-LAB will be available to our club members ONLY. If you have not yet joined the club, it’s the time now.
